How did I miss this one? I know. It was from American Idol. I personally felt that anything coming from that “talent machine” would be just utter crap. Not to downplay the talent of the contestants but I just had a pre-disposition for not thinking anything original would be that good coming from that place. Well I never did pay attention to Clarkson’s first album but “Since You Been Gone” sure caught my attention when I overheard it the first time! I managed to get a copy of this album and have been playing it at least once a day now for the past week! Some of the tracks can really get my heart pumping -and some just make me weep uncontrollibly. “Because of You” is a very hard-hitting tale of the damage you can do the ones you love. “Beautiful Disaster”, the last song on the album is a fitting end. It’s just her, a live audience, and a piano. I think I still cry hearing her beautiful voice singing that song. I’m not sure if I’m hearing the lyrics or the melody first on that one but it sure does hit me hard.
I guess my only complaint about the album is the cover art! What happened to THIS Clarkson?
She looked so plain, wholesom, and happy. Why get all made up and what not? I don’t find that attractive at all. Oh well, who listens to me in Hollywood?
