Thanks for your kind words regarding Suffusion! I have been just super happy with this theme (and I’ve used quite a few). Actually, you’re the only guy that likes what I’ve done with it. I’m learning that there are very few people that like “dark” website color schemes. I’m still developing the design and fleshing out much of the content at this point but hope to get it all done over the next month. At this point, I’m trying to use a “warmer” color scheme and not use the default dark or light color schemes that come with Suffusion. Still, thanks for the input and compliments!

I love black kittens!!! I have a cat right now but we have to get rid of her because she is having serious pain problems. I think we have to put her down. I had her for 11 years. Anyway, i want to get a black kitten.

There are no papers anywhere saying he is anything other than a domestic short hair,but i am careful…; because i cannot risk anyone tyring to take him away from me.
And they do that here .

As HIS best interests ,would not be what anyone had at heart .
i have had him 6 years,and i am “mommy” for sure..
And it took 2 years for him to even trust me.

And he has behavorial problems disposition and the abuse he endured.
I am pretty sure he was put into pitbull fighting pits,and then abused by his owners for not doing that they wanted .

What did they expect.Again,in the bronx.
I worked in the bronx for years.We rescued so many cats i cannot tell you .
One was being beaten at a house we went to on a call(i was a paramedic),righti n front of us,,they kept kicking and hitting this tiny kitten..i mean ..so i pet it and it followed me to the door.. so..i just slipped it into a coat pocket ,and took it with us in the ambulance as we were leaving.
I am sure no one in the house could have cared less,and no one even complaiend about a lost cat .
yeah ..people suck~

..He weighs 35 lbs ,and can touch my collar bones with his front paws if he stands on his hind legs .(i am 5 feet tall)

when I was 17 I had an adolescent cat that went berzerk and CHEWED on both my mother and myself. I was 99% ready to choke the lil bugger, but it really just isnt in me, so we had it “handled” by the local animal control board.” It was decapitated and the head was studied for causes: likely rabies. WE had to take the headless corpse and dispose of it on our own.

I have heard codependency described as “an addiction to people.” I think this is a bit broad, but I also think it captures the spirit of it somewhat.

I think where the codependency/Christianity thing gets mixed up is that Christianity is devoted to helping people while being true to Christ. Someone who is codependent makes “helping people” their primary goal in life, instead of glorifying God. When the two come into conflict, the codependent person will generally break toward what they perceive as “helping people” and justifying it in their mind as glorifying God. When one looks at it closely, they’re really helping themselves more than the other person. Many people go into missionary work because they feel they’ve got something to prove, but it’s not for the right reasons, and it usually ends up bad.

It’s a tough habit/sin to break and requires some deep thought and meditation on what it means to truly bring glory to God.

Anyway, that’s IMHO. Good luck on your journey!

Ugh, Kimosabee- Next time, maybe you not be Tonto (Candy knows that technical term), and take some of those young bucks with you to help load as well. Even a decrepit old fart like me would have gladly accompanied you, and we could have used the van and my dollies to great advantage. I guess those cases that are STILL in my garage are looking a lot like chopped liver now.
Maybe it’s time to start cataloging exactly what equipment you want to take with you on the road, and how it can be grouped into modules for different types of gigs, and how it should be interconnected –Elco’s for instance. Then we can come up with a very portable yet powerful rig.
That’s what I’m doing with my SR gear, and it’s made a big difference already. I now have one Anvil case on wheels and a golf bag that carry my whole basic rig (save the SRM-450 powered speakers) and another Anvil case for the stuff I add on for slightly larger venues (adds monitors and power conditioning) and a third module for lights.
I’m thinking like using my 2 DEC rolling cases to make a desk for the Fellowship Hall, putting all your EIA gear into the one that’s currently in there, and adding a case or two for your system unit and screens.

I now know how you felt yesterday. I think I aged 50 years too from cleaning out the garage and moving that equipment too. Just remember the little people when your business needs employees. Rock N’ Roll All Day Long!!!

Actually I don’t know just how slow your own equpment is but this stuff is pretty old in reality. I’m only in it for the chassis and power supplies. Most of the acutal silicon goods are well over 6 years old! At least I’m not as sore today as I was yesterday -I can bend over now and tie my own shoes. I think I aged 50 years overnight yesterday as a result of moving all this stuff alone on Saturday. Completely wiped me out for the count!! The technical term my wife used to describe my idea of hauling all this stuff without any help this weekend was… “dumb”

That is about a metric tonne of equipment. Imagine how fast LJ would refresh if I had that *drool*

Terri’s story is a sad. Ultimately it has made my wife and I look into a living will because we don’t want anyone else deciding our fate (public, media, religious & govt leaders, parents that won’t face reality). This may be more than you want to know, but a necropsy literally means looking at/examining something dead. Autopsy means looking at/examining oneself. Anytime you look in the mirror, you’re performing an autopsy. If a tiger were dissecting a human being for study, it would be a necropsy, but if a tiger were dissecting another tiger, it would technically be an autopsy since they’re looking at a like species.

English can be stupid at times, but at others, it can be wonderfully descriptive. Don’t even get me started on the “naseous-nauseated” differentiation. (But I’ll tell you if you ask me nicely!)

I think it’s disgusting that they killed the animal. More likely than not, they had tranquilizers in their possession at the time of the shooting. And I’ve seen an animal go down with one of those in it’s neck or side. An animal goes dooooooooooooooooown. I haven’t read the articles, but I will. But honestly, I really don’t think there was any real reason to just kill this animal.

It’s always hard though. Always, always. My suggestion though is to take all the cats in to get tested. Also, I think there’s an immunization for FeLV. If you let your cats outside, you should look into it. Always make sure that your cats are up to date on shots and immunizations. Especially if they go outside. Not like I’m one to talk. My cats haven’t had shots in three years. I should take them soon…

I think about it a lot… what I’m going to do when Lestat decides his time with us is done. Chevelle isn’t as bonded with me as Lestat is. I’ll still be really sad to see her go but I think she’ll be relieved to journey on to her next life. She really wants to be human badly. I can tell! LOL. But Lestat, Lestat just wants to be a part of me. My mom says that he’s my familiar. And, well, since I’m pagan and ecclectic wiccan and druidic, kind of makes sense that I would have one.

I’m really sorry… and sorry that I couldn’t talk to you earlier. I can barely see the screen right now as it is. I’m really, really sick and I have fluid spewing out my eyes, nose, ears and mouth. It’s not.. pretty. And it’s highly uncomfortable.

Take care of your other babies. I know that one of you cats had miscarriages, you should take her into the vet to see if maybe that virus had anything to do with it. Take care, and call if you need anything. If I’m not sick or incredibly cranky, I usually am a good person to talk to.

The anecdotal evidence about bankruptcy ought to tell us that it is not due to medical conditions. How many people do you know that have declared bankruptcy? I know a few. What percentage of them declared because of medical issues? Not a single one. Give me a break! If someone said, “I’m going to lose my house because of unpaid medical bills,” all they have to do is tell the local paper. The money starts flowing in. Believe me, having had first-hand experience with a medical emergency in my immediate family, Americans start opening up their pocketbooks when they hear of stuff like that.

I was trimming my beard this past weekend and just quite realized the fact that it looks like I have at least 3 colors of hair in my beard: brown, red, and grey. My mom has long said that she fully expected me to have red hair due to my genetic background but it never happened. Well I guess after all that, I DO have some red hair in me!

Yeah, I get that way. Shaving is still a novel idea to me. Not one I particularly enjoy, but it’s novel. I get five o’clock shadow now like crazy and it gets worse everyday. I keep looking in the mirror, saying, “I’m becoming a man”. Someday, when I get wrinkles, I’ll be saying, “Now it’s serious. I’m a full grown man”.

Imagine my shock and disgust at my first stretch mark. I thought I’d never get them, but I did. Right on my…well, you don’t need to know where exactly.

Lately, I’ve been tripping on the fact that I’m one quarter away from my B.A. Wasn’t it just yesterday I finished high school? I keep thinking they (whoever “they” are) are going to rescind my credits and tell me I need 2 more years of general education, or something.

Success is a very strange gift to contend with.

C’mon. How cool is that? I’ve been trying to get my Mom and Pops to get tatted for years, but it ain’t happening. Glad to hear your Mom enjoys it! That’s a lot better than regret.

I wouldn’t recommend the LLC route for you. Two reasons: 1) it costs about $800 a year MINIMUM for a corporation. You can buy several million dollars worth of liability insurance for that amount. You aren’t quite in that ballpark yet. 2) The cost of maintaining it for tax purposes doesn’t justify any savings you may realize until you get into the millions of dollars gross receipts. Maybe one day, if you bring in a couple of partners, then you might want to take another look at it. While incorporating made sense a few years ago, Uncle Sam has pretty much taken away all of the advantages for small fry like you and me.

You may want to consider a partnership between you and Kandi. I spoke with an accountant the other day (I’m going to use him, I’m pretty sure). He said that with a partnership, you greatly reduce the chance of an audit. Not only that, it makes doing business quite a bit easier because Kandi can do a lot of the things that you alone could do if you chose sole proprietorship.

Anyway, that’s the scoop, IMHO.
